Chester Stevens was inducted into
the U.S. Army Air Corps in November of 1942. He received basic training at
Keesler Field in Biloxi, Mississippi, and was then stationed at Chanute Field in
Chicago. In November of 1943 he was deployed to the European Theater, landing at
Southampton, England.
Stevens spent two years in England, assigned to the motor pool at
the U.S. Air Force Base in Bury St. Edmonds. He returned home in March of 1946.
