Notes 973.6.16 11.Untitled St.-Lo, Normandy, France, August, 1944 Watercolor on paper Place de Ville-St-Lo. The tricolor waves once more. The French tricolor flag waved in the cathedral square, St.-Lo. Visible in the forgeround wwere a bomb crater and artillery shell casings. The heaviest damage to St. -Lo was caused by hundreds of American bombers in attempt to break the German defenses.
